At the start of the 24/25 season we made the tough decision to reduce to two teams due to general drop in player availability.
With that said I’d like to congratulate the reserves for maintaining their Stroud league five status.
The firsts had a mixed bag of results but team bonding and camaraderie was great to see. We now have our own hub at Shadwell with food, drink and tv for final score. A place to relax after the game and chat about the result.
Hopefully this season that team bonding will pay off with results on the field.
Our social media sites have now improved on tik tok, instagram and our own website. Although still in progress this will hopefully have all results and stats for us to look at.
I’d like to thank our sponsors, Kerry, Altrans Liquids, Cotswold Way scaffolding, Owlpen Manor and Prosperity sports and management. Plus Renishaws for their £500 donation.
Many thanks also go to Joe Durcan for his support with sponsorship, the hub and general help. Also Leon Williams for the social media work and training.
Hopefully our social and fundraising events will continue this year with an old boys reunion hopefully planned for September to be known as the Cecil Ash cup after our previous president.
I’d like to thank all my fellow committee members for their tireless hard work. And finally I wish both teams all the best for the season ahead.
